The Contact Lens Exam

Your optometrist considers your overall eye health when determining which lens will be the best fit for you. Your contact lens exam takes a little longer than a standard eye exam.

You can expect a few additional measurements, a few questions about your lifestyle, and some inquiries about what you’re looking for in a lens. Your prescription may need to be changed slightly to accommodate a contact lens, as it sits directly on your eye.

The Contact Lens Fitting & Trial

The contact lens fitting brings you even closer to your freedom from eyeglasses! Everyone’s eyes are unique, and a fitting ensures that we find the perfect pair of lenses for your eye shape. Once our doctors have found the best possible fit, you will receive your first pair of trial contact lenses.

It can take a little while to adjust to your trial lenses, and you may not love the first pair. That’s totally okay! Regular check-ins with Village Optical help with the transition to your new frame-less lifestyle.

Care & Maintenance for Contact Lenses

The care and handling of contact lenses is a little different from your eyeglasses. Your optometrist will provide you with directions that promote the longevity of your lenses.
